For an example you can repeat with a scale, two dry sheets weighing 650 g each total 1.30 kg; three total 1.95 kg. Start by weighing two or three of your own sheets, rather than treating an 8 kg rating as a sheet count. The selected programme limit, care instructions and room for large sheets to move decide the actual load.

Compare two and three measured sheets
Three illustrative 650 g sheets total 1.95 kg; two total 1.30 kg. Weigh your actual pieces, because size and construction change the result.
Count individual pieces, not undefined bedding sets
Write down each fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcase separately. A set might mean one sheet and two pillowcases, or include a duvet cover as well. Those bundles do not have the same mass or bulk. Read each finished item’s care label and keep incompatible treatments in separate loads.
- List the pieces and sizes you plan to wash.
- Measure each piece dry, or weigh the complete compatible load without its basket.
- Record the exact programme and approved dry-load limit.
- Load as the manual instructs, without compressing the bundle.

Use reference weights only as identified examples
Beko’s cited dryer manual includes a 500 g double-sheet dry-weight example and a 350 g single-sheet example. Those numbers describe example laundry masses; a dryer manual does not authorise a washer load. They are not measurements of your fitted sheets, heavier fabric or elasticated construction. Replace them with your own dry weights when checking a real load.

A three-sheet calculation, with separate permission checks
Suppose your own dry sheets each weigh 650 g. Two total 1,300 g, or 1.30 kg; three total 1,950 g, or 1.95 kg. This is an illustrative measurement scenario, not a claim that all sheets weigh 650 g.
A programme allowing 1.5 kg would exclude the three-sheet load by weight. A programme allowing 2 kg would settle only that comparison. You must still check whether that programme permits the fabric, number of bedding items and loading arrangement. A subtotal under the limit does not prove that large sheets can move freely.
| Pieces in this example | Dry mass | What remains to check |
|---|---|---|
| 2 measured sheets | 1.30 kg | Programme permission and movement |
| 3 measured sheets | 1.95 kg | Actual limit and any item restrictions |
| 3 sheets plus unweighed pillowcases | Incomplete | Measure the extra items before comparing |
Why the 8kg badge is not the programme allowance
Samsung’s general UK cycle guide gives Bedding an example below 2 kg and directs readers to their exact model manual. That is evidence that programme limits differ, not an instruction to apply 2 kg to every washer. Dividing 8 kg by an example sheet weight would hide the programme, fabric and space checks.

Save a useful repeat-load note
Record the actual sheet range, dry total, cycle and permitted arrangement after checking them. Recheck when replacing linen or adding covers. Keep drying capacity and care instructions separate; a compatible washing load does not establish that all those pieces can stay together in a dryer.

Check your calculation
Can I wash two full bedding sets together?
First define each set and total all its pieces dry. Check compatible care labels, the programme allowance and the loading arrangement. A count of two sets is not enough information to approve the load.
Should I weigh sheets after they are wet?
Use dry textiles for a dry-load comparison. Water retained after washing is not the mass that the dry-load rating describes.
